A song open in AnyChord: the video playing above, and below it the chord grid, bar by bar, with the bar playing now lit up.
The chord view: large diagrams laid out left to right in playing order, the current one in the middle and the next already visible.

The bar-by-bar grid under the video: numbered bars, four beats each, with the chords written on the beat they land on.

The grid

Bar by bar, in time with the video. Tap a beat to replay it.

In playing order, with the next shape already in sight.

The grid

Bar by bar, beat by beat

The grid moves with the recording. The bar sounding now is lit, the next one is already on screen, and a dash through a beat means the chord you are holding carries on. Tap any beat and the video jumps there, which is how you learn the bridge without listening to the first verse nine times.

Chord diagrams

In the order your hands need them

Open shapes where they exist, movable shapes everywhere else, left-handed diagrams for anyone who needs them, and the spelling that belongs to the key: a song in F minor reads Bb, not A#, because that is how a musician would write it down.

Fix it yourself

When the machine is wrong, you have the last word

Automatic listening is an estimate: a riff played on fifths can come out major where the song is minor. Hold a beat and change its chord, remove it, bring the next one forward or mark a rest. Your corrections stay with the song and can be undone at any time.

Questions

Frequently asked questions

Does it work with any song?

With any video on YouTube that is not a live stream and under fifteen minutes. The first analysis of a song takes three to four minutes; every analysis after that opens at once, for everyone.

Are the chords always right?

No. The listening is automatic and reads an estimate, most often wrong on riffs without a third. You can correct any chord yourself in two taps, and your corrections stay with the song.
